Hello Dragonball Deviants,
I know, I know. About time the new president would make some kind of note. Believe me I would have liked to give my hello’s a lot earlier but real life has its pulls that are unavoidable. But fear not for I am back and ready to start commanding.
As some of you don’t know, My name is Erin or Icekitty on DA. I’ve been a fan of the Dragonball series since I first caught glimpse of it way back when I was 11 and it was a Saturday morning cartoon at like 6am on Abc I believe. I had recently seen all of another series that looked just like it (dragon warrior, another old Akira Cartoon that was aired here in the US for a short time). And became enthralled with the series as I’m sure most of you did as well. Speaking as a fan I’m certainly going to strive to make more contests and push for more fun things to do to spark the creative gene in all our members.
One thing I believe that might bring our activity back up, is to start accepting fan works again. Although I believe since the Community of fan characters is so vast and diverse. I will probably restrict pictures we put up to fanart of only Akira Toriyama made characters. Another thing I’ve considered is fanfics, I’ve read some really awesome fan written stories. But yet again I don’t want to get swamped with a ton of stories based solely on fan based characters who somehow out the women in set couples and steal the main characters from the shows (I’ve read a lot of these kinds too). So if we decide to put fanfics up there will probably be a strict content guideline as to what we accept.
Staff members: I really would like to get more recruiters and get some people who can take care of the picture posting. That way I’m not so bogged down with tons of stuff all at once.
Forum activity: Our new shiny forum has no activity. Please help the boards become less barren by just registering (it’s free) and saying hey. Start a discussion, post some pictures, start a word game. The more we talk together as a fan community the easier it will be to grow as one.
Well I guess all in all that’s what I had to say. I hope I do not fail your expectations, and I hope to make lots of good friends from this experience. If you have any suggestions or Questions please feel free to note me on my main account ~
